2021 was a fantastic whirlwind. Despite all the craziness that abounded, there were many (many!) great moments from last year that I cherish. I met so many beautiful dogs, horses, and cats plus their wonderful owners. I'm very grateful and lucky that I have a business that allows me to interact with so many devoted animal lovers and kindred spirits. Here's a quick recap of my year!
Dog Photo Sessions
One of the biggest stories for us personally was having a puppy in the house again. It's been many years since we raised a puppy so was quite an adjustment! We rescued Winston right after Christmas and so 2021 gave me the opportunity to photograph him as he grew throughout the year and to a whopping 76lbs!
This year gave me the opportunity to photograph some dog breeds that were a first for me! I enjoyed it so much I'm starting a Breed of the Month contest to increase the variety of dog breeds in my portfolio. You can check it out here and enter to win a free photo session with me!
Equine Sessions
I photographed 13 horses (and one foal and a mule!) last year! I was honored to be asked to photograph horses for the High Meadow Ranch Horse Club in August 2021. It was blazing hot but the horses looked amazing!
Charity Work and Fundraisers
As always, I make sure to carve out time to give back to local charities, especially dog rescue. I started volunteering weekly with the HSPCA photographic their new weekly intakes.
I also participated in a few fundraisers this year including a Ball Pit Portrait event and my first pet calendar contest. All told, I helped raise over $6,000 for these non-profits and hope to exceed that number in 2022!
